Type: font and size
- Reading font. Choose the typeface for the panels and menus. Alongside the standard font (Inter), two are built for legibility: Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed to make letters easy to tell apart, and OpenDyslexic, the dyslexia-friendly typeface. Roboto, Open Sans, Lato, Nunito Sans, Verdana, and Georgia are there too.
- Text size. Turn the rail, header, and menu text up to 110 or 125 percent.
- Crow's Nest text size. The reading panel is where you do the most reading, so it sizes up on its own, all the way to 150 percent.
One thing stays fixed on purpose: the chart letters and prices are monospaced, so the profile columns always line up no matter how you size everything else.
Spacing
Letter spacing (panels and menus): Normal, Roomy, or Wide. If letters run together for you, widen it.
Contrast: themes and modes
- Theme: Dark (the default), Calm (a softer palette), or CB safe (a colorblind-safe palette).
- Shell mode and Chart mode: set the app's chrome and the chart each to Dark, Light, or Grey, independently. You can run a light chart inside a dark app, or the other way around.
- Customize colors: for full control, open the color customizer and set individual colors to taste.
Timezone
Set the timezone that all times display in. Only the shown times change; the chart data stays exactly the same.
Built for dyslexic and tired eyes
None of this is buried. A comfortable setup for dyslexic or tired eyes is the one the founder uses himself: OpenDyslexic (or Atkinson Hyperlegible), the text turned up, letter spacing set to Wide, and whichever theme is easiest on your eyes. Try it, and keep what helps.
Match Charles's whole setup in one click
You do not have to build any of this from scratch. In the Workspace section of the settings rail, click Captain's Workspace. It sets your chart to Charles's exact setup: the profile sets, colors, and auto references he uses. Your own data, alerts, and saved levels stay yours.
