What changed in each release, in plain terms. Newest first.

v0.2.9 October 2026
  • Several composites on one chart: in the Composite view, press Add composite (up to 8). Each one has its own dates and they draw side by side, oldest on the left, each with its own value area.
  • Color boxes now open a palette: ready colors, basics, your recent colors, and a box to type or paste a color code.
  • Rest the mouse on the VWAP path, an IB extension zone or a balance area's edge and a card names it. Turn these cards off in Settings, under Chart.
  • Replay now plays at real market speed, starting at 32×. Press the speed to step through Real, 2×, 4×, 8×, 16×, 32× and 64×. Turn on Fast for the quick speeds and Smooth from before.
  • Drag a horizontal line up or down right on the chart. A new Lock switch in a line's or ray's right-click menu keeps it in place.
  • Sharper chart text on Windows.
  • Volume numbers now follow Letter size.
  • Alerts can stay on screen longer: under Alerts, Keep on screen, pick 8 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute or Until I close it.
  • Pick which set the prior day comes from with Prior day from, under References, Prior levels (your RTH set to start). Prior week and prior month now use the full 6 PM to 5 PM trading days, so they no longer jump at the 9:30 open.
  • Workspaces: Save keeps the name of the workspace you loaded or last saved and updates it, instead of making Workspace 1, Workspace 2. Saving in one chart no longer wipes saves made in another.

  • New: Connections, one place for your data feeds. Connect IB Gateway and Databento once and every chart, grid and window can read them. Open it from the feed name beside the ticker at the top of the chart, the Connections button in the Data tab, or Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on Mac). Disconnect there turns a feed off everywhere, and your saved history stays.
  • Each chart has one ticker box at the top with its feed beside it, for example ES | IB. Click the ticker to change symbols, or the feed to read this chart from another connected feed. A grid picks its feed with the feed button in its rail. The Data tab's ticker boxes and Connect buttons are gone: connecting, the Gateway address and your Databento key are all in Connections.
  • When CutlassEdge opens with no feed set to connect automatically, it shows your feeds: connect the ones you want and press Continue, or press Open my charts without connecting to see the history saved on this computer. Turn on Connect when CutlassEdge opens in a feed's row and your charts open on saved history right away while the feed connects behind them. If you had Connect on launch on before, it still is.
  • A new chart, from the + beside the tabs, starts with Choose your chart: type a ticker or pick ES, NQ, YM, RTY, CL or GC, choose the feed when two are connected, and add history when this computer has none for that ticker. On IB each choice says about how long it takes. On Databento each shows its price before anything is spent, and the chart opens as soon as today arrives while the rest downloads behind it, with a Stop button.
  • Your work belongs to the ticker now, not the feed. The lines, zones, alerts, notes, drawings and Battle Plans you keep on ES are the same whether the chart reads IB or Databento, and work saved on a dated contract like CLX6 stays with CL after the roll. The first launch combines what each feed had, keeping one copy of anything saved on both.
  • Right-click a drawing for its own menu: color, text, width and style, Remove drawing and Remove all drawings. Each drawing tool can also have its own key: set one in Keyboard shortcuts (press ?). A key the trading hotkeys or another shortcut already use is refused.
  • Label a horizontal line, ray or rectangle: right-click it, type its Text and pick Left or Right, Above or Below. A line's price prints beside the text unless you turn off Show price. These labels now size with the zoom like the auto levels' labels; Label size and Fixed size (ignore zoom) are in Tools, Drawings, with the measure readout's Position under Measure.
  • Drawings stay on the day you drew them: expanding or collapsing a day, hiding TPO letters or loading more history no longer slides them onto other days.
  • Add a note to an earlier day: in the Crow's Nest Notes tab, the arrows beside the date step back through the days on the chart.
  • Captain's Workspace now keeps a copy of your own setup when you press it, and a Restore Previous Settings button under it puts your setup back.
  • The crosshair can show a vertical line too: turn on Vertical line in Chart, Crosshair.
  • Footprint numbers only: in a set's Style, Footprint, pick Bar layout Numbers only for clean columns of numbers with no bars, one per bar period (30 minutes, for example). Cell numbers can show Delta, Unabbreviated prints the whole number, and Color by sign gives positive and negative delta their own colors.
  • Grid: the Match all button in a cell's header gives every other cell its timeframe, chart type and dates, so only the tickers differ. Every cell shows a current price line now; set its color, width and style, or turn it off, in the cell's Chart settings.

  • Chart tabs. Open more than one chart in the same window: Window, New Chart Tab (Ctrl+T, or Cmd+T on Mac), or the + beside the tabs. Each tab keeps its own ticker and settings, your tabs reopen when you restart, and you can double-click a tab to rename it.
  • Two tabs on the same ticker share their lines, zones, alerts, notes, drawings and Battle Plan. Add something in one and it shows in the other.
  • Two IB charts can run live at once, for example ES in one tab and MES in another, on one Gateway connection. On Databento each ticker runs live in one chart at a time; a second chart on the same ticker asks you to pick another.
  • New: the candlestick grid. Window, New Grid Tab or New Grid Window opens a board of candlestick charts, each cell with its own ticker and timeframe, from 1 minute to monthly. Cells run live on IB or Databento, intraday cells keep up to 90 days of history, daily, weekly and monthly cells reach back years, and your layouts save from the rail.
  • Replay moves by the minute. The slider steps one minute at a time and shows the time (for example C 10:47), Shift plus the left or right arrow steps one minute, and clicking a day under Analog days in the Crow's Nest Stats tab replays that day from the 9:30 open.
  • Style the current price line: show or hide it, and pick its color, width, and solid, dashed or dotted, in Style, Theme.
  • Reference labels can keep one size while you zoom: turn on Fixed size (ignore zoom) under Label size in References.
  • Fold the sections in the Crow's Nest Read, Stats and Levels tabs by clicking their title. They stay folded after a restart.
  • The +, - and 0 keys zoom the chart, and with several tabs open a shortcut acts only in the tab you are looking at.
  • Full day profile sets run exactly 6 PM to 5 PM New York, as labeled. The one-hour column after a Friday or pre-holiday close is hidden now; turn it back on with Friday and holiday after-close hour in View.
  • Battle Plan: plans written after the 4 PM New York close or over the weekend are saved for the next session, the Plan tab moves to the new day at 4 PM even with no feed, and Arm (Enter) arms the plan exactly as you wrote it.
  • Notes and alert entries made after the 4 PM close file under the next trading day, the day the chart labels the evening session. The Composite's dates and its Week, Month and Year buttons follow the trading day on 24-hour feeds too. Earlier entries stay where they were.
  • Alerts no longer fire from history when IB connects: price alerts, reference alerts, bracket alerts and the Battle Plan wait for live prices. The first alert sound of a session plays at full volume.
  • On GC, CL, RTY, NG, SI, HG and the currencies at 2 or more ticks per row, every row holds exactly that many ticks, so the volume profile no longer looks like a comb.
  • Natural gas (NG) works on Databento, and Continuous history is on by default for the stock index futures, so your history carries across the quarterly roll.
  • Captain's Workspace now holds after the restart and brings the Captain's current setup, tools and rail layout included, without changing your reading font.

  • The chart is now two views: Multi and Composite. The single-session view has been retired, and everything you used it for lives on these two. Your reads, saved lines, replay, and VWAP are all still here. If you were on the single view, it opens on the multi-day view now.
  • Every saved line shows on both views. The Single, Multi, and Both switch on the Levels tab is gone; each line you draw shows on both charts.
  • Replay runs on the multi-day chart. Press R on any day and it rebuilds bar by bar the way the live morning did, with Smooth or whole-period stepping.
  • Each profile set sets its own value area basis, TPO or Volume, right on the set. It used to live only on the single view.
  • Weekly, monthly, and yearly profile sets. When you add or edit a set, pick Profile per: Day, Week, Month, or Year, and the set draws one volume profile per span beside its last day. A new Full day session preset covers a round-the-clock version.
  • This week, month, or year in one click. The Composite view has Week, Month, and Year buttons on its date range, and each stays current as the week or month rolls forward.
  • Auto center keeps the current price vertically centered on the multi-day chart, with as much room above and below as you set. Turn it on in Chart.
  • Cumulative volume profiles can run a date range now, a start and end date, instead of only a day count.
  • Hide a set's collapsed TPO letters. A Show TPO letters switch in the set's Style lets a set be a clean volume profile or footprint.
  • Add a note on the chart by typing. Click a Text, Note, Price note, or Comment and start typing, no need to fill it from the rail first.
  • Hover a weak or poor line and a small card names the reference it reversed at.
  • The cessation mark has its own section in Tools then References now, with its own on/off and colors.
  • Style your IB extension zones: up and down colors, fill opacity, and line thickness.
  • The window compresses to half a screen now, so it fits beside another app without clipping.

  • Watch more than one market at once on Databento. Open a second window on NQ while ES keeps running and both update live, and the watchboard rows fill live on Databento too.
  • Opening a new window is guided. When Databento is live and you open a new window it asks which symbol you want, and if it has no history for that symbol it offers 3 days, 60 days, a custom count, or just today, with the data cost shown before anything downloads.
  • More markets roll to the right contract on Databento. Crude, natural gas, gold, silver, copper, the treasuries, and the FX majors, along with their micros, now follow the front month correctly, and monthly roots are back on the symbol picker.
  • Each market remembers its own layout. Switch from ES to GC and back and your profile sets, styling, and session windows for that symbol come back the way you left them. Turn it off in Settings, Chart.
  • Light and grey chart modes work end to end. The whole chart desaturates now, the per-column volume bars included, where before switching to Light or Grey could fail. The current price line stays a deliberate accent.
  • Your feed tells you when it is delayed. If IB is sending delayed data because there is no real-time CME subscription, the feed reads "Delayed ~15m" in amber and a one-time note explains how to switch to real-time. Before, a delayed feed could read as live.
  • The multi-day read stays on the live session. Clicking a day column no longer moves the Crow's Nest read onto that past day; on the multi-day view the read is always the live session. Replay and the single chart still open the day you pick.

  • Read it from across the room. Bigger reference labels, and the price axis gets its own Size (1x to 4x) and Color, plus a Normal or Dense label spacing switch, all in Style.
  • Pick any ticker on the feed you are connected to. Choose NQ, RTY, or any root from the symbol pill or the watchboard: on Databento it switches that feed to the new symbol, on IB it connects IB. No more "Disconnect Databento first" when you only wanted a different ticker.
  • VWAP from the real trades. Where your Databento fill covers a session, VWAP is built from the actual trades instead of the bars, so it reads truer (it will sit slightly off the old bar-only value). A one-day composite reads that day's VWAP, and letter size no longer shifts a composite's VWAP.
  • Duplicate a profile set. One click copies a set with all its styling, so you can change one thing without rebuilding.
  • Expand only the last N days per set. Keep the recent days expanded and the older ones collapsed, so recent structure stays readable over a long history.
  • Backfill repairs the gaps inside your history, not just the ends, with holidays left alone.
  • The Compass lives in the Crow's Nest now, at the top of the Read tab with its Long and Short pills and the factors behind them, which frees the top bar. The command palette's Compass entry takes you straight there.
  • Reference-touched alerts clear themselves after a few seconds instead of piling up. The X still dismisses one early, the journal keeps every fire, and your armed price alerts still stay until you dismiss them.
  • A session high or low within one letter of yesterday's (or the overnight's) high or low is now marked Weak (day parallel) instead of a clean session extreme. One letter is less than the two it takes to repair. Poor still wins when it applies.

  • Volume delta on the profile. With Databento tick data, any volume profile can show total volume, delta (buyers minus sellers, in your colors), or bid and ask side by side. Run more than one volume profile per set, split by session, hour, or 30, 15, and 5 minutes, and a CVD strip under the chart in the Tools rail rides the same numbers.
  • Footprint. Per-bar bid and ask volume with imbalance marks, the dominant side highlighted, bar footers, and the bar POC, in its own Footprint section of the rail. Needs Databento tick data.
  • Prior levels. The prior day's, week's, and month's high, low, close, POC, and value area as standing lines on both charts, in Tools then References. Pick which ones, their colors and width, and whether a level stays, dims, or drops once price trades through it. Each set can show its own prior session, and they can fire alerts.
  • Clicked levels go where you say. A switch at the top of the Levels tab sends a clicked level to the single chart, the multi-day chart, or both, and clicking no longer pulls you off the multi-day view.
  • VWAP bands draw on every session, on IB and Databento alike, and the IB extension zones stay on the session you are watching through the opening brackets.
  • Simpler colors in Style. The Theme, Set, and Custom modes are gone: the color you pick is the color that draws, and the schemes are named for what they do (One color, Value area, Volume tiers).
  • The app knows when the market is closed. Weekends, the daily break, and CME holidays (including half sessions like Labor Day) show a plain gold notice with the reopen time in ET instead of "reconnecting". The feed light reads the market the moment you connect, not 90 seconds later.
  • Type symbols the way your other platform spells them: /ES, ES1!, ES 09-26, ESU26 all connect to the front month. On roll day a continuous "ES" moves to the new front month on its own and tells you. A stock ticker gets a plain "futures only" message. Monthly contracts like crude or gold: type the dated code, for example CLX6.
  • The Databento fill is careful with your money: a quote is dropped the moment you change the symbol or day count, the Start button says exactly what it will buy, and a double-click cannot start the same fill twice.
  • Alerts have their own sound: pick a tone and test it at the top of Tools then Alerts. Alert toasts stay on screen until you dismiss them. Windows shows Ctrl+K instead of Cmd+K, the feedback form no longer requires an email, and you can replay the first-run tour from Settings.

  • Session windows can run past 4:00 PM now.
  • The chart reads better at any zoom. Text grows and shrinks with the zoom, date labels can sit on the top, the bottom, or both, and hovering any TPO shows its time, date, letter count, and volume.
  • Size the open and close markers on their own sliders, and the single chart's colors now match the multi-day view.

  • Every futures contract now builds its profile at its own tick size and price precision.
  • A connection Doctor for IB Gateway. When it will not connect, one click runs a staged check, heals the common client-id conflict on its own, and hands you a copyable report for anything it cannot fix.
  • The Read tab labels both points of control. It shows the TPO point of control and the volume point of control separately instead of one POC, so the number always matches the line you see on the chart.
  • Set the color of each auto-reference on its own, line and label: naked VPOC, weak and poor highs and lows, session extremes, single prints, low-volume nodes, and gaps.
  • Cumulative profiles now draw on the composite view.
